Could anyone point me towards a list of pronanities to avoid for Adsense?

The swear filter on my forum is only really there for Adsense, but an admin is getting a bit enthusiastic about it and it's even catching me out these days. I would like to find a list of words to help with discussion about the topic.

Don't mind ads not appearing on the occasional post but I'm keen to avoid the emails you sometimes get for doing really bad things. Got one once for that iconic picture of the female tennis player so I have no idea what they want.

Hello-

With the new Adsense's rules, you'll be fine. As long as you are not promoting illegal activities, your site/account will (should) not be banned or blocked. According to the new rules, Adsense can disable ads on given pages, or, use a limited inventory.

KInd of tough to compile a list as one man's profanity is another's poetry.

In English speaking Western cultures the "7 words you can't say on television" used to be the "golden list" ... these days who knows what word(s) are offensive.

As Jorge said - with the new adsense rules - if they see something they don’t like - they just don’t show ads anymore (instead of the account at risk emails)

But... for your own forums sake - block the usual swear words, and more importantly - block any racist words - these are more likely to get your site banned.

... the world is moving into self-censorship, but that is a different topic!

Thanks, I wondered if there was a reference somewhere. I think my forum does a good job of removing offensive words, and over time we have also added some words that are in common friendly use in the UK but are used offensively in other countries. UK slang for cigarettes or Chinese takeaways for example can offend especially when combined with search engines.

I'll give it a friendly mention to the admin. He does an absolutely fabulous job, but we do like toilet humour in the UK so it's human rights for us to have the words for that. :-)

The worker bees (admins) are generally your best profanity filters ... and good ones are often hard to find!
