Or is someone filing complains with adsense manually?

I started getting them regularly since July now. Same pages have been running ads for 15+ years without issue but all of a sudden there is a policy violation for "weapons". Page covers a defense industry player as a topic. Another details the history of a blunderbuss musket. Ads are related tactical gear, knives and scopes from top brands which is great - heck even the NRA advertises.

I dont know what's going on but I found that manual reviews then get mixed results. One reviewer will allow it and the next will say violation stands. No real consistency.

Then after a week or so, all violations disappear. Makes little sense.

I personally think their algorithm got really sensitive, or became a liberal : p

Yeh adsense told me that you make the fix and in my case wait for violation notice to go away without requesting a review.

It’s a pity coz other movie entertainment sites seem to get away with worse like damn revealing photos of models actresses etc. maybe coz they are huge websites?

I don't see how other sites have anything to do with a violation at your site. Only solution is to remove what is causing the violation.

Yes agreed keyplyr my point was that the notices are not relevant. But yes, I deleted the content right away.

ditto similar story here. Been running adsense on these pages for years and all of a sudden loads of these violations even flagged one that discussed a famous artist. Other competitors running similar articles with no issue. Just more time and revenue down the pan.

AdSense's Policy Center is often a bit of a mess. I have constant alerts coming up about ads on a page with no content even though there are no ads there. Google told me that some of the page-level violations can pretty much be ignored without any negative effect on your account.

Just got my latest one today and it flagged my home page. Not really sure why so I just filed the review without making any changes. I think their algorithm has obviously recently changed and is now flagging more pages than before. Only limiting ad serving to the page that is flagged is an improvement over several years ago when they would just disable ads on the entire site when they found a violation on one page. This happened to me several times and killed earnings for several days until a human review could clear the so-called violation.

I got one yesterday for a page of blank content on a site that I'd never heard of. (I have no idea why Google was serving ads on that page, since the site isn't one of my authorized domains.)

Thankfully my Policy Center has been quiet for a few weeks now. Previous violations either went away after human review or on their own.

Agreed it seems they have changed some algorithms and made it more aggressive than before..

I currently have over 100 violations. They are URL specific and only cause restricted ad serving. Not really a problem.

If you really care you can address the problem or remove ad code on that URL, they will clear up in a few days.

Are they legit violations for you? I found mine were a bit on the touchy side, Adsense being sensitive to certain words on the page that were not violations at all.

Just curious if most are seeing an overly sensitive ad crawler.

The violations are mostly related to tobacco, firearms, gambling, sexual content. Google skews on the safer side.

Ads still serve, they're just restricted.

Hate to state the obvious, but the SJWs are everywhere these days. G is working as it should, listening to feedback ... only problem is that feedback is from one ideology only. And ya, I get it that nobody believes that. Just mark my words.

Sadly, I think tangor is right. There are a lot of whiny, nitpicking so-and-sos who think they're saving the world by reporting things that may or may not be on the edge. It could also be that they have a problem with your site (disgruntled user, competitor, etc.) and are doing it for Ss&Gs.

I've had objectionable content warnings for everything from a picture of a woman in a tight t-shirt (sex/nudity) to a sentence mentioning a certain technical innovation by Nazi scientists (promoting hate speech). C'est la guerre, I just adjust them and move on.

On one of my sites I get this for a login page that has never had ads on it, or any rouge ad code. I get the policy violation email every few months. *shrug*
