A new ad appeared today ON ALL 8 TABS of my Firefox Browser simultaneously (Mac).
Is it from AdSense?

Title Bar: Recommended App; Similar Selfie Cleaner
"Are you a Selfie Lover?"
Similar Selfie Cleaner: Grab the most awaited cleaner
exclusively for all your selfies. Keep snapping and keep
choosing your best selfie.
x Let's you remove similar & duplicate selfies
x Saves chunks of storage space

Get it Now on the App Store!
(Button) View in iTunes ... or ...Scan QR code

This ad first popped up as I was looking at my AdSense stats.
Then I noticed it was on ALL EIGHT of my open tabs.

I'm about ready to call it a day, if I am forced to endure this pile of cr@p.
Ye G0ds, is there no respite from the predatory b@stards?
Maybe I must kiss Firefox good-bye, cause I ain't going for this cr@pola.

AdSense doesn't serve pop-up ads.

So I visited the source (I think) -
[itunes.apple.com...]

Compatibility: Requires iOS 8.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

The only iThing I have is an iMac. I don't use IOS, EVER. But now, I get bombarded with ads for an IOS app.

From PCVARK Software. Another entity to be added to my sh|tlist.
So I guess it isn't from AdSense, then. Any suggestions to make this go away forever?
Intrusive, obnoxious, pure spam. More evilware to be dealt with.

I'd be a bit concerned about what caused that to pop up in the first place.
I assume you have no malware on the system, or didn't have any other tabs open, right?

Requires iOS 8.0 or later.

I was going to say that it sounds as if you need an ad blocker, assuming you've got adequate hardware in addition to the current software. (I've got an oldish iPad and therefore can't use one, and boy is it annoying, especially since the iPad is already slower than the desktop.) But if you're on a desktop, surely you can get an ad blocker for an iMac of any age? Especially if it's an ad that has figured out how to bypass your popup blocker :(

Try NoScript before the adblocker. Makes a difference. Allows (selectively) JS on sites you want and rejects everything else.

Provides pop up list of what's hitting your browser (and you'd be amazed!)

RE: ad blockers & script blockers

My belief is... if you are an internet professional, any type of adblocker/scriptblocker is adverse to the functionality of that title. Working on the internet is being aware of what goes on, not hiding your head in the sand.

Are some ads irritating...? Of course. But if you don't see them you're hobbling yourself to what others see and therefore out of touch with the currency that drives the very environment you are trying to work with.

As an internet professional I allow all things from first parties. Third parties, not so much. And some third parties are to be banned while a few others are allowed. That is the functionality of MY (emphasis being my experience) browsing experience. And the browser makers are looking at the same problem and who knows, might eventually come with third party disabled in the future.

Sally Stitts - Your iMac's operating system isn't iOS?

Nope, iMac runs on macOS, iPhone and iPad run on iOS.

Nothing wrong with that. But this is going OT.
To Sally, I doubt very much. Google AdSense does not serve popups or popunders. It's something else. Either you have some adware or opened a URL that spawned these tabs - perhaps a typo when entering an address?

Check for BHOs that might have installed on the browser. Hard to get rid of, but worth the effort. Meanwhile, I hope you're not one of the mac users who bought the kool aid that Apple is impervious to attacks which hit Windows (even the Linix kiddies get hit these days).

I do have some experience with Mac malware.
A Google search for worst macintosh malware puts my Mac malware page halfway down the SERPs on page 1.
I list 22 of the top offenders.

The problem is, that the worst Mac fix-it software, ADVERTISED ON GOOGLE, AND AVAILABLE IN THE APPLE APP STORE, will give you more problems than you started with, and is almost impossible to get rid of. It is not a "solution" at all, and is guaranteed to give you WORSE PROBLEMS than you started with.

ESET works fine on iPhone, Mac, iPad, the first month is free at least.
