I found this on my dashboard this morning:

In the past 7 days, your ad code has appeared a significant number of times on sites you don't own. To avoid lost revenue, make sure to add these sites to your verified sites list in Site Management.

That's great. It must mean that more people are stealing from me. But....how do I go about finding these websites?

If the sites don't show under your Sites list, you could search for the (data-ad-client="ca-pub-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx") line from your ads (within quotes) and see what shows up.

Thank you, not2easy. I guess I just figured that code would not show up in search results. I was so wrong, and you are so right!

Crazy message as the lost revenue was never yours, and the scammer can't get it, either. It's a warning message, and in that regard is an alert that will allow you to know WHICH sites are stealing your stuff.

(Note: even if g were to pay out on those hits, the check would come to you. Since it is NOT your site you don't get paid.)

I certainly would *not* add any of those to your verified sites list.

That may allow you to get paid the additional income, but it's like playing roulette... you never know what bad practices these sites may engage in and they could cause your account trouble. After all, they did steal your content.

I don't think that thing is very reliable anyway. Mine's been listing the website for the London Stock Exchange for months. And my Adsense code most definitely does not appear on that. Im guessing that it's just the long string of numbers in my publisher ID that appears on it somewhere.

azlinda, fyi, this might help you, along with some other observations. What to do When Other Sites are Using My Ad Code [webmasterworld.com]

I recently noticed a similar warning on my Adsense console.
The site in question was exact duplicate of what seems to be my entire site, with the exception that all references to my domain had been replaced with theirs. However, things like my company name, as well as copyrights in images, still show.

I thought it strange that they would copy the entire site but not strip out the Adsense code.
Also, Adsense reports to me that ads were shown on a whopping 4 page views last month.
That seems a lot of work for nothing.
I wonder if the person wants to claim that they made my site, in the sense of using it as a reference to get work in designing a site for someone else on the same general topic?
