There is literally nothing on Google about help with FBAN and I didn't want July thread to get hijacked by FBAN discussion so here it is. Ask questions, share tips, talk about results, especially centered on the mobile web FBAN. And hopefully a future desktop version.

My question: when I use native ads, oftentimes they won't load and instead a big blank square likes to appear instead, even on desktop. Anyone know why this is?

I am in the same boat. I had pretty high hopes for FAN. Whats odd is my requests were even fairly low compared to what I see in analytics. But of the requests I saw almost none resulted in an impression

Also seeing very low impression rate with native ads - though it did seem to improve after a couple of days, so will give it longer.

Similarly the actual RPM is quite good for banner ads and would beat Adsense if the fill rate was 100% - hopefully fill rate will improve over time.

I have noticed recently that with native ads, their high-paying inventory refreshes at the beginning of the month. So for a few days they make a massive amount of money, then they make diddly squat for the rest of the month. Has anyone else noticed this?

So far my workaround has been to remove native ads and add banners once the native ads start to suck. Seems to be working nicely nowadays.

I'll leave mine running for a few more days and see if that is the case for me.

Latest update: a mid-article unit of mine is running 50/50 between FBAN and Media.net, with the unit being a 300x250, with no controls for device in place but mobile being 80 percent of my traffic. Currently the FBAN unit is out-earning the media.net unit by 40-50 percent with less than half of the fill rate. Now FBAN is starting to make sense to me. Now I just need to get around to relearning DFPSB so I can run MN as backfill on it...

Anybody still using FBAN? I haven't for awhile and the dashboard says that an ad can take up to 14 days to calibrate but I've been reluctant to add more units or displace a performing Adsense unit to find this out. Can anyone confirm or deny if RPM goes good after this point?

It looks like that they will close again the beta for mobile web. I received this message today:

Hello,

Thank you for taking part in testing the Audience Network mobile web beta. Based on the results, we've decided to shift the focus of the beta in 2017 to a limited set of large media companies that have provided significant value to our advertisers. As a result, we will not be able to support you going forward. Your Audience Network mobile web account will be disabled as of January 17th.

This decision is limited to the Audience Network for mobile web and does not have any impact on your ability to monetize your mobile app with Audience Network, publish or monetize content in Instant Articles, or promote that content on Facebook.

Thanks again for taking part in our beta testing. If you need assistance in off boarding from this service, please feel free to contact us via the 'Need Help' button on your Audience Network dashboard.

Regards,

Audience Network Team
