Responsive vs non-responsive

Who has not switched and is glad of it?

This is a question of curiosity, or you might say my being nosy, but I would appreciate any responses.

I see some sites that get a lot of traffic, but are not "mobile friendly" and don't seem to be making any moves to become mobile friendly. I do see AdSense ads. It's almost as if they've decided not to try making a site that's friendly for those using mobile often.

Anyone here? Any "bad" results with that approach?

Talking purely AdSense, I see many sites that are desktop only and their earnings must be less than if they were mobile-friendly.

I have one site that is not marked by Google or Bing mobile friendly and it has non-responsive AdSense. It's very seasonal, and is normally in the dumps at this time of year. Difficult to do the comparison without switching, I guess.
I would expect to make it fully responsive in all aspects next year, in time for the new season.

Thanks for the response engine.

One site I just checked is reporting 27,000,000+ visitors in the past 24 hours.

I just wondered how common that is for a site with lots of visitors.
