That answer depends more on your niche and readership quality.

If your income revenue stream is completely tied to advertising such as adsense or similar, it is unlikely these days that revenue will be "good" or even able to support the website. Private, or local advertising, which you seek and develop for YOUR SITE ONLY, will generally provide a greater return.

The only way to prove this is to actively run such campaigns.

Also, as fathom says, your niche and readership will play a very large part in whether any kind of advertising income is possible.

More detail about your niche and audience geos would be helpful.

If Adsense revenue is decreasing, maybe it's time to look into other networks that specialize in your niche/geo. This way, you can diversify earnings so if one network stops performing you will have others that can pick up the slack.

Maybe if you've reach a traffic volume that makes sense, then you can start selling ads direct to smaller-medium advertisers. (as a lot of the mommy bloggers do)

it depends on your niche...what niche is it about? be more specific about the audience

But not too specific, because for one, WebmasterWorld likes to keep things general and for two, you might not want to encourage or inform competition.
