I've been told that we can ask questions here and that this would be forwarded to John Brown, the new AdSense Guy.

Here are my concerns.

Ads increasingly not being shown
The problem
Google's own ads are whitelisted because they meet the Adblockers standards for being non-intrusive (plus a bag of cash). Our ads are not part of that deal because that's where all the display type inventory gets dumped. give us the option to opt-in to a "clean" channel of ads that will whitelist our ads in ad blockers.

The solution: a whitelisted channel
Offer publishers a Whitelisted Channel they can opt-in to so as to display only non-intrusive Adblocker approved text ads. That way we too can have our ads show up, just like Google's own search ads.

More promotion of publisher network
I'd like to see Google to promote the publisher channel more aggressively, to teach local type advertisers how to leverage the publisher network to remarket, produce case studies of how advertisers can expand their reach more profitably with a publisher network spend over throwing it away on network TV advertising, etc.

MrSavage:

[googlemobileads.blogspot.com...]

That only addresses mobile. No idea if it applies to desktop (but it wouldn't surprise me specially in dicey layouts like slideshows where the AdSense arrow could easily be mistaken for the slide show arrow)

In that other thread I repeatedly asked people to ask support but apparently nobody did. If it's a concern to you, ASK YOUR SUPPORT. That's what it's there for. From what it sounds like this Google rep isn't even going to answer these questions on this forum:

He will be replying on a post in SearchEngineJournal.com

(Which is precisely why I am not putting any more effort into asking questions here)

Thanks for that reference point regarding the mysterious ads. That does remind me that there was one article I found from yes, around 2012 as well. To me it's somewhat relevant, but it's really buried in dated obscurity at this point. I will say if the effort by Google is to inform their publishers, then I would feel confident in suggesting every publisher knows that link units = 2 user clicks and regular ad units = 1 user click. People don't know anything other than that. Any games other than that, then people would be in the dark on such a situation. Bait and switch. I don't know what to call it. I can't speak for everyone of course, but if this is a "thing" then the circumstances and clear reporting/understanding of this should be provided to the publishers. I didn't put up a 1 click ad to find out that it can sometimes require 2 clicks. I would have a big rethink on what I'm using my ad space for. If I know nothing about this, then I can't do anything about it. It's bizarre to be honest. There would need to be a double asterisk ** with a note about those ads when we're adding them onto our sites. Some type of disclaimer. Something. Anything. 2012 dated information doesn't cut it for me. It's almost 2016.

ken_b: The questions are being reviewed now. Received word last night.

If it's not too late, I wanted to add one more. A member posted a question about their AdSense account here [webmasterworld.com] and my question is related to that.

I believe that it would be beneficial for Google, publishers, and advertisers that if Google contacts a publisher about a violation that needs to be corrected, that all further communication between the publisher and Google be fast-tracked for response. In the above link you'll see that a member was contacted, they responded to Google and then was met with 45 days of silence. Any reasonable person can see that is not an acceptable manner to communicate with partners.

It would save us time if, instead of "hiding" ad units, we could simply delete our retired ad units and never see them again.

Having to scroll through a list that includes hidden (retired) ads, when building custom channels, is a time waster.

Considering the need to mass retire non-responsive ads don't you think you might make this a priority?

Help us help you clean house.

Was this ever posted. Its probably too late but I have a question.

Could there be warnings instead of bans for violations that seem small and unintentional.

Google has just posted a message following up on this. [adsense.blogspot.com...] But I haven't yet seen the follow ups. Perhaps I missed them.

Nothing published yet. I understand 2016 will be interesting for AdSense publishers and hopefully for the better.

Hello everyone! I hope to post answers to at least 2 questions in the coming days. I've been a bit delayed with US holidays, as well as other projects. Any questions that were not answered will carry over and could potentially be answered in future months. Sincere apologies to all of you for the delay.
