Hi
I'm fairly new so please bear with me if I say something stupid.

I noticed a big difference between the Cpc some are 0.03$ while others 1.50$

I guess that I.m not the first one asking this observation and for sure not the first one asking himself how to encourage the higher CPC ads.

I searched for a few hours and could find some old keyword adsense pricing, and I assume that there is no official list....

However is it worth trying to guess it or "trusting" some of the tools/services available out there (paid) to find out the higher paid keywords?

I.m focusing mainly on my content but I.m quite new in the webmasters world so I.m trying not to miss some opportunities if there are any. ...

Many thanks

Welcome to WebmasterWorld Ronnyy

There are many variables to the EPC you get paid, unbelievably yesterday I had 2 clicks from Australia paying 0.01 combined!

One of the biggest variables is from where the visitor is located and your target audience. For me the US and UK generally pay the best, Australia, Canada, New Zealand are usually ok but quite often western Europe and the Middle East can be equally high and low and bear in mind I have a niche widget audience which can make some of these EPC values look ridiculous.

However is it worth trying to guess it or "trusting" some of the tools/services available out there (paid) to find out the higher paid keywords?

With this question I assume you are building a "generic" website rather than a specialist/niche one?

I have no experience with a generic site however I suspect that area is dominated by well-known scraper sites!

Epc depends on the niche, including not just the topic but also how many advertisers it has. Some niches just do not pay well. Some niches just do not have many advertisers, which lowers competition and bid prices. Epc also depends on quality of the traffic, meaning what country it is from and how its gets to your site. Quality of traffic translates into how well it converts for the advertisers, which really is the bottom line.

You can get some idea - roughly - of better paying niches by using a tool (Adwords has one) that shows bid prices in various niches. However, sites in well paying niches have a lot of competition in the SERPs. You may build a site in a well paying niche but then never get enough traffic for it to matter.
