According to Google my ad is only seen 7% of the time it is loaded.

Hello guys,

I noticed a very strange thing about one of my websites. I logged into Google Adsense account and google informed me that ads units on this particular website are only seen "seen 7% of the time it is loaded".

Does somebody know what does it mean? I am using the same ads format here as on any other page I have, which is 336x280 (first one is displayed after 1st paragraph inside the article and the second one bellow article in the comments sections) so there should not be problem and it should load well.

Does it mean, that only 7% of visitors who visit the site see the ads? If yes, it would explain why this particular site has such a low ctr. Could using a caching plugin cause this problem? And what can I do to fix it?

It sounds like it could be a scrolling issue, Mikaelo. As I understand it, a certain percentage of the ad has to show and the ad has to be on screen for a certain number of milliseconds before it counts as "seen".

My guess is your site is "responsive". Am I correct?

SmallP: Yeah, according to Google it needs to be visible at least for 1 second I think. What I don�t understand that only this particular website has this problem. As I said this one has 7%, others like 85%.

Maybe people aren't scrolling down on that site. If you get a lot of mobile traffic, consider putting a 320x50 or 320x100 ad at the top, if your design supports it. (I use a responsive ad, and it looks like G mostly serves 320x100 there, insofar as I can tell - anything bigger is against TOS)

If it's above the content, yah. If someone land on your page with a smart phone and all they see before scrolling is ad, you're probably in trouble.

Below some content, no problem. But a 336x280 won't necessarily fit properly on all phones - you'd be better off using a 300x250.
