Best of luck. I still have my ads off which prompted my AdSense account manager to email me about why I removed ads? I told them I shifting gears more towards rev share opportunities with direct advertisers. They asked what would it take to entice be back. To which I replied negotiated/fixed RPM; they said they think they can make this happen. I'd be happy because the roller coaster would be over for me. Wouldn't necessarily guarantee more in earnings, but I told them I'm just sick of all the wild swings.

That's great, Avalon. I hope it works out for you. I never heard of them doing that kind of deal but if they do it sounds like a good thing for you.

I don't blame you on the wild swings thing, part of why I cancelled my account is that I'm sick of worrying about clicks and earnings. I saw a lot of clicks disappear, and earnings would look good in the report then get clawed back by Google later in the day.

Life is too short to stress out about that kind of thing, so I decided it was time to let Adsense go and move on. I'm happy if it still works for other people, but for whatever reason it just died on my sites. Too bad too as it used to work fairly well.

I don't know what's happening inside of Google with it, but I wonder if other publishers are canceling their accounts too. I seem to remember Google posting something on their blog about welcoming more publishers or something like that.

Adsense was never a major part of my business plan but at its best I earned up to £1100 per month. This is now about £30. I have given up but I'll leave it there for the time being. £30 gets me a few beers. :)

Ha, Bee Dee. Maybe I should just reactivate then and collect whatever I can. In thirty years I might have enough for a six pack of beer! lol

Why "cancel" your account? Wouldn't it have been better to just leave it open with no ads being served?

Who knows what the future might hold. I'm not sure there is anything such as "reactivating" the account. You would need to re-apply and who knows what the entry criteria might be in a year's time.

I may have to remove Adsense off a section of my site due to the gallery software I use no longer being supported and there is no way to disable on it on individual galleries (I used to be able to when I was doing it manually.)

I am happy to keep it running on my other sites, but I am not really getting that much off it these days either.

Nomis, because I was in a snit. And yes, you can click a "reactivate" button and then they approve your sites again (or not). You just have to go to the adsense login page and you'll see the button.
