I just figured out that the click bombing happened to a non-www site, while the www.site was not affected. So if I'd removed the non-www site while the attack was happening, it might have stopped it.

Am I the only one with www. and non-www sites in the Owned Sites list? Is that a bad idea?

See now as I described in another post, I didn't go by the AdSense numbers, I went by the Analytics numbers (there was around a $700 difference) and so then Google lopped off around three bucks from the Analytics number at the end of the month, and everything's everything. And I *still* ended up 188% of last March, so everything's still everything.

My solution? Ignore the AdSense Dashboard.

I gave all the numbers I care to. The percentage was miniscule; well under 1%

Yes, it did. The one day that had the big clickbomb (about an extra $700 or so) showed up in the AdSense dashboard and stayed there. (In fact, it's still there in the "Last Month" figure, which pisses me off NO END) But that amount never made it into Analytics, for whatever reason. The Analytics numbers were about as close to spot on as one could hope for. The AdSense numbers were inflated. And because of Google's goofy method of reporting, even though they took that extra money out of my "Current Balance", it's still there in my "Last Month" number, and is added to my lifetime earnings numbers. Nuts.

I don't use Analytics so I don't know what numbers you were referring to. I'm talking about your Finalized and Estimated Earning on your main adsense interface.

I'm just surprised about your 1% deduction. Assuming you had an estimated earning of $4,700 on March, you said you had an extra $700 from clickbombing, so that means your finalized earning is $4,000 -- which amounts to 14% deduction, not 1%.

Am I right? Unless you earned $70,000 on March, then $700 amounts to 1% deduction.

I started this thread to compare everyone's deduction from Clickbombing to know if mine is normal with everyone else's. You started inserting Analytics numbers which confuses me. That is all.

Ps. I don't really give a damn about your earnings. It's your own business. I just calculated the percentage with the numbers you have freely provided. I didnt even ask the exact amount of the Clickbombing but the percentage of the deduction.

If your AdSense account is tied to your Analytics account, Analytics reports AdSense earnings - in more detail than you get in the AdSense Dashboard. You can find out things such as earnings per page or per traffic source or whatever. To get more information, you'd have to install Analytics and tie it to your AdSense account.

Had this experience as well -- huge spike in Adsense for 1 day but was never shown in Analytics.

So when we look at the figures in the Adsense interface, we always had to remind ourselves that we need to substract that amount from the total earnings. True enough, G removed that amount in the finalized earnings. Oh well ...

Mine actually went up a few cents, go figure.

Yes I believe I did again. I get it every month. Adsense is always adjusting my earnings on the fly every single month. Sometimes it big sometimes its small. Fortunately for me, for the last 2-3 months the finalized earnings adjustment has been less and less.

For March it was only 0.2%, although I have seen it as high as 1% in past months.

I wonder why some of us got heavily click-bombed and others not so much. Not enough data to even make a guess but it sure seems strange.

Could it be because we are a large site? My whole sites generate at least 200k page views a day. Are you a large site WDR if you don't mind me asking? I'm just perplexed why I had a huge deduction. Yours came second so I assume you're a large site as well.

No, I am not a large site at all. About 2500 page views a day is all. It's a forum, too, so generally not a lot of clicks, even. I'm puzzled as to why they even bothered since click-fraud stands out when a site doesn't generate a lot of valid clicks anyway.

Maybe the click-fraud folks are not so bright, after all.
