I had a site get banned several years ago for pre-filling the search box. Not an account, a site. I've since closed that account but have opened a new one recently.
How do you get un-banned?

You need to file an appeal with the initial violation ID. Without it, Adsense won't bother replying to you.
If it happened several years ago, there's a likelihood that the violation is already closed/unresolved.

So there is absolutely no way to get a website unbanned if you never got a violation ID? That domain name is banned for life, no matter who buys it in the future or what website is placed on it?
That's beyond harsh.

internetheaven I have researched this and from what I can gather is. 1- File an appeal 2- State why the site was banned 3- what steps you have taken to correct the violation 4- be nice 5- don't expect much but be as upfront as possible with as much detailed info as possible.

How can he file an appeal without the initial violation id? Even if he did have it, he'll get an automated email saying the violation has been closed.
Your best option now is to contact support directly, that is if you are eligible for one on one personalized help support. Click the Help link in your Adsense account and see if the contact support option is available.

You can appeal on domain basis without the id. If it is multiple domains then there is a problem, but from the OP post it looks like the domain and not the account was banned.
