Generally, if your CTR and epc are that low, then your content is either uninteresting or not unique and so there is no reason for your visitors to click on your ads since they match the uninteresting content. Revenue increases when you have well written, interesting content that offers something that other sites don't offer. The niche doesn't matter much.

And make sure your blog has a valid privacy policy. Blogs tend to "forget" to add one.

People don't click on ads just because they are there. The ads that they see must naturally lead on from the reason for visiting the blog. Unfortunately there may be better bids from irrelevant advertisers because your pages contain keywords that are relevent to them.

For example if you are writing about a topic in a locality your visitors may be coming due to interest in the topic but the best paying advertisers are for the locality. Say you are reviewing a gig by a country band in a major city. Your visitors may be interested in country concerts, CDs, magazines etc but the best bids are location based perhaps for ads for plumbers near the concert hall.

election, it is not just your grammar that needs working on. Your spelling also needs looking into.

You've made a number of typographical errors in your comment above, and that was just a couple of sentences. Now multiply that for your whole site.

There are online grammar checkers, but you'll also need to know punctuation as well as spelling. That includes the meaning of the words.

Eg: Earlier you wrote "loose" instead of "lose". A spell checker wouldn't have picked it up because they are both valid words, but they have different meanings.

We all make typos, and you don't have to be 100% grammatically correct 100% of the time.

It also depends on your audience. There is no point writing the Queen's English if your site is about "gangster life in the 'hood". And you don't want to write like a Jerry Springer contestant if your audience are geeks and teachers.

Lets say you are an expert on cameras, and you write review after review. You've spent hours writing and testing. But if your review is peppered with spelling mistakes, punctuation and common grammatical errors, your audience will less likely to take your efforts seriously.

Not only that, it makes it easier to read and understand if done correctly. Others will more likely to link to you. More people will believe in what you have to say etc. etc. etc.

I shop online at times, and if I visit a site that has spelling mistakes in it, I go elsewhere. I lose confidence with a site like that.

Forget chasing the next big Adsense earner. Create a site with a subject that you know about... or can find out about without too much effort.

What about the town/city/village that you live in? It's not as if you'll have far to go for info, or for taking photographs. Places to eat, drink, sleep, visit... or places to avoid. Famous people or stories related to the place. Ghost stories, history of the place, and the list goes on.

Note: When I mentioned "without too much effort" it was because it would be far easier for you to write about your town than it would I. Just like it would be easier for me (less effort) to write about my town than you.

A number of people think Adsense is a bottomless pot of money, sitting there for the taking. They try to target the larger-paying keywords, and fail. Their sites are often scraped, poorly written, incorrect information (which could prove fatal at times) and so on.

Adsense is not a get rich quick program, and nor is building an authoritative site.
