There's an interesting post on Google's AdSense blog today about user-generated content and policy compliance:

"After the initial notification, you need to take action, not simply respond to the warning, but implement solutions to
proactively ensure that violating content is removed and new content added to the network or site complies with our policies."
"You should ensure, though, that you are able to
effectively screen all content proactively before choosing to monetize user-generated content."
However, does Google itself meet that standard for its own sites (e.g. YouTube, Blogger, any other sites with user-generated content)? It seems not, because they rely more on "takedown", rather than proactively monitoring content. Doing it proactively is exceedingly difficult.
We don't allow any user-generated content on our sites at present. If Google has a screening solution (e.g. some API) available for publishers, I'd really be interested, and I'm sure so would others.
