Now all this talk about banning is making me nervous again. Someone said they got banned for camouflaged ads? Now does this mean that we cant have the border and background of the ad the same color as the page background?

They are getting picky lately.

What about link units? That shouldnt matter should it?

No.

And the thread you pointed to, does not mention anything about the same colors used. Lets not start any FUD.

well it just talked about camouflauged ads. How many of us here use same color backround ads and borders that are on a white background?

If you look at googles help forum, they claim its ok to do this.

Not really sure, probably making ads look like they are internal links.

The main idea is that your users need to be able to tell the difference between your normal site links and navigation and the ads. If it's not immediately apparent, then it's *too* blended.

I use the same color scheme for my ads on several sites as my navigation, and I don't have a problem. But the ads are placed well away from the nav, and there's other ads there as well, so there should be no doubt it's an ad.

I have no ads by my nav links on the left of my page.
I use the blended ads on the top and bottom of my pages and the links on those ads are blue. There is plenty of space between the ads and content.

Im probably just too paraniod. I have never had a complaint yet about my ads and they been in the same spots for years and years. I also never ever tried to be deceptive with them.

These people who are getting banned must be doing something more than they say. I see google ads all the time where they intentially place ads over google ads so you have to click on that little x at the bottom of it to close it so you can see the content of the page and it sometimes accidentally clicks the google ad underneath.

I have a question, if I have a sentence at the bottom of my webpage that says:

"Click here for more information on widgets." (sentence is linked)

Then, I have a ad with 3 spaces between the link, Is this Ok or should I move the adsense ad further down? And if so how much?

if you are not sure then either ask adsense directly or move the ads away.
IMHO if you are in doubt then better to clear the things which are creating doubt in your mind.
Look at the ads from normal user's point of view and ask yourself whether you will understand that these are ads? Or you are getting prompted to click on the ads?

Be honest and you will get the answer.

Thanks

You can for sure see they are ads, just taking pre safety cautions. Normal point of view would be idiot proof. That I dont think anyone on this forum could answer except new internet users.

I wish adsense had a hot line for clarity....lol

Who here would give up $10 a week for customer service? I know I would!

If you are concerned about them blending in you can label "Sponsored Ads" above the ads.

snickles121, you have shortened your life by ten years just from the stress you've expressed in this item. If you're that paranoid, AdSense is probably not a good solution for you, because you are going to be on like this all the time. Use your common sense, and have a backup plan. But AdSense is what it is. And well over 90% of the sites I've seen that were kicked out heartily deserved it. If you're not skirting the edge, you're probably okay.

I've written about this before, a while back AdSense asked publishers to submit their success stories. One of the winners was recognized on the AdSense blog.

The winning site had ads so well blended on its pages I had a hard time of telling which were ads and which was just site text.
