What determines how many adsense ads appear on our site or pages? I hope this doesn't sound too amateur - I know a lot about internet marketing and web development but never did adsense..it's one of the only factors in this startup that is a big question for me. We'll have very rich content on many pages, on several subjects. We can design the site for adsense. And we plan to get direct advertisers as well.

You can decide for yourself on how many locations on your page you want to integrate the AdSense code and what the size of each ad block should be. So you are the one in control.

There is a maximum however of three regular ad blocks and three AdLinks blocks.

Ouch...check out MFAs!

IMHO the best design is to try removing the AdSense ads (i.e. disable javascript), what does the site look like?

Normal or gaping holes?

I believe many of the most successful sites had AdSense added to them after it was introduced and have not designed their sites around AdSense, certainly ALL my sites look precisely the same with or without the ads, just slightly shorter in overall length.

You also have to bear in mind your site's construction. I can remove AdSense completely off thousands of pages simply by replacing two .inc files in seconds. Some people like to integrate AdSense differently on many pages...whoa, far too much like hard work for me!

If no. of ads is my decision, why would anyone want to limit ad revenue if it were a major income source?

Second, I know a brand is a brand, but from scouring around it looks like if your content is very, very good, then you should get decent CTR. In fact it looks like if you get less than 1% CTR for ads you're a moron. I mean let's not get too academic. I'm not putting up an esoteric subject.

It is, and it isn't.
Yes, you can decide how many blocks of adverts you have on your site - as long as it is no more than the max allowed.

Who says you are limiting your ad revenue. Do you think that by having more adverts means you will receive more money ?

It will certainly make your site more spammy looking. Then again, you are making it for adsense. :/

Well, we will control for the visual appeal. Yes, enough is enough. I'm sure there's a lot of improvising to get revenue where you want it. I'm prepared.

Anyone like to knock me out with some reality on CTR? Mind you, our content will be first-ever. In fact, break-through. And the subject matter is diverse, and on fairly common subjects.

By the way, what is the maximum no. ads allowed?

Read the TOS. It will answer many questions. Google it if you cannot find it.
