I block google adverts. No problem here.

Just to clarify, the ads Google places on the Content Network compete in the auction just like every other ad. They can be CPC or CPM, but you will be paid for valid clicks and impressions just like you would be for any other ad.

When it comes to ads on the Content Network from Google Maps, AdWords, AdSense or any other Google product, Google is just another advertiser.

I do not trust Google. Plus the ad quality (graphics) is very poor (Maybe on purpose to get more attention?). In my opinion Google is disrespectful to its own advertisers & business partners (publishers) in the way the AdSense & AdWords business is conducted.

IMO Google is also too aggressive with Google Maps so I do not need more Google Maps ads on our sites. When you search for some keywords Google results will show 4 sponsored links at the top, Google Maps with bunch of links right below the sponsored links, more sponsor links on the right side and search results are not even visible to most users unless you scroll way down.

Not all ads (and not all AdSense ads, for that matter) are meant to be contextual ads.

Chrome ads are relevant to most Web users because Chrome is a Web browser, and people who see AdSense ads are prospects for Web browsers.

Still, if you don't like non-contextual ads, you can opt out of placement-targeted CPM ads.

No I do not trust Google (especially AdSense) and we get paid close to nothing for image ads that we have on our site. It is not even about the money from AdSense as we only use AdSense for unused inventory on one of our sites and we only have one image banner. No text links etc. As you all know, image ads are paying pennies so we are not doing it for the money. And the check we get from Google is not even 1% of our advertising revenue.

I just have to filter many of those ads from Google as they are unrelated to our topic. So extra work for me.

That being said, we do use Google AdManager which is working OK and those unused ads are server through the AdManager. I only log into our adSense account when I have to block some ads.
