My main experience with Website Optimizer is in helping advertisers improve the performance of their campaign landing pages, but I know publishers have found success using it as well. Who's using Website Optimizer? How do you use it to measure or improve the performance of your site?
I was talking to some product managers and other folks here about publishers using Website Optimizer and I told them I'd ask you guys and report back.

No I don't use it and unless something happens to the landing page that works I won't. It says I have signed up to Web Optimiser and asks me to start experimenting.
I know I'm a stick in the mud but that landing page gives me zilch enthusiasm to start, what to me is, an unknown experiment.
Amend the landing page to say something along the lines of "here is a new way to increase your Adsense earnings easily and here are a few examples of how it has helped others ....." .
Maybe then, I might be tempted to delve further. Possibly I'm a real Plebian as far as experimentation is concerned but if it ain't up front and absolutely clear what is involved then I don't have the time. I've been around the block so many times as far as web page optimisation is concerned that I became dizzy many years ago. And I learnt from drinking too many pints of beer, that dizzy is not good at the end of the night. I remember when I was 18 and had too many pints ....... I was sick!
So, I'm not sure if I can effectively use this or not.
Another thing...the A/B test requires the use of a second URL, and they even suggest keeping it around later, since some people might have bookmarked it. Since an adsense test would be merely moving ads around, and changing the way the ads look, that would mean I would essentially be creating a second duplicate URL. Not sure *that's* a real good idea.
ASA, it would be nice if Google would provide this type of tool *specifically* for adsense testing. Google would then be the one tracking conversion, rather than relying on us to figure out how well things did - without requiring a conversion "page" to do the tracking.
Of course, Adsense publishers are the red-headed stepchildren of the Google empire, with the Adwords advertisers being the golden children who win all the pretty trophies. But we Adsensers could improve OUR bottom line as well as GOOGLE'S bottom line, if we were treated a little less like wicked stepchildren, and a little more like business partners.
Anyway, enough of that little aside. Re: the question you asked, ASA, I would love to use Website Optimizer, but I think the conversion page question might be the kicker that prevents me from doing so. Or am I wrong? Can I just ignore that part?
