Can AdSense used with OpenX / Ad Manager reduce AdSense revenue?

I am planning to use either OpenX or Ad Manager to manage my ads. I am hearing one-off comments here that using Ad Manager with AdSense have affected (negatively) their AdSense revenue and some commented that removing it and directly inserting the ads reverted it.

Is it what you have seen too? Are you using AdSense with Ad Manager? Have you noticed anything detrimental?
Any warnings you would like to share?

Thanks.

Hello. I experienced a drop too once I used the Adsense features integrated within Ad Manager. It might have been a knee-jerk reaction on my part, but I reverted back after around 3 days and my earnings were restored almost immediately. I haven't tried again to see if I was justified or whether I was over-reacting. I now run Adsense as an external advertiser within Ad Manager, and manage the Adsense adverts solely through the Adsense panels. This seems to work ok for me.

Ad Manager seemed to increase my impressions and thus reduce my CTR and eCPM. When I stopped using it, things looked much more normal. I can't swear to it, nor have I seen anyone else who has reported it, but that's how it worked for me.

@netmeg
Was your revenue affected on average?

Thanks a ton for all the input and ideas. I wonder if others have experienced the same issue too.

Can't tell for sure, there are too many other factors. But my sense was that inflated impressions causing my CTR to look worse than it actually was could affect smart pricing, so it seemed a good idea to get rid of it.

It is sad when Google fails to debug their two products to work together properly, especially when they strongly advocate to use ad manager and provide deep integration.
