That was a pleasant surprise.

I thought it was a holiday!

After all these years I've just learnt that the US does not celebrate Easter Monday!

Clicks, CTR, eCPM and earnings were all way more than I was expecting and I was really confused whilst watching the news when I saw the US jury convicting Phil Spector.

Courts working on Easter Monday?

Oh, so we get a holiday you guys do not have? That makes a pleasant change:-)

Just a bit of info for US AdSensers, if your European business traffic is down this week it is because many companies are closed for a full week's holiday therefore traffic to kids/downloads/etc may well be up.

It's been crap for me over the holidays, hence I haven't said anything. Most traffic from USA, Canada and Australia.

Good Easter for me too.

Seems that every passing year holidays affect Internet-activity less and less - Only logical as more people have mobile internet (with fixed monthly cost), broadband at home, etc... and people are less and less religious/spiritual.

HuskyPup,

We don't celebrate Boxing Day either. The Puritans just couldn't wait to get back to work.

US does not celebrate Easter Monday!

Well, what the government considers an official holiday and what the U.S. celebrates are not always the same thing.

Where I live, a lot of businesses close on Good Friday. But that's their own decision, not an official government holiday.

Plus, there are lots of celebrations, they just don't all involve taking time off work.

Stats are all lousy so far this morning, so is this reflecting the Euro-clickers enjoying their week off?

I had my best day of the month so far yesterday.

What that means I have absolutely no idea...

I have to admit mine look stuck!

Apart from, I think, all European schools being on holiday for two weeks, this week is also a traditional holiday week for many industries, especially the construction industry, well, those who are still employed that is!

Monday was unusually good for me too. Could almost have been 2008. I altered layouts late last week, and the earnings were in a channel that benefited from those layout change, so I don't think it was a click dump.

Spotted my earnings stabilising in early February. For me I reckon the massive fall could partly have been down to smart pricing. If that was the case then maybe a smart pricing bug on Monday?

Is it the 18th when Google's quarterly report comes out? Should be interesting.

I had an awful weekend but Easter Monday was slightly above average and we're heading for an excellent day today. Almost of all of my traffic is UK based as well.

The holidays were phenomenal for me. Today however, is terrible.

Almost of all of my traffic is UK based as well.

I had an excellent EPC for the first 12 hours of the Google day, about 30% above average, but the last 1/3 was a now seemingly normal much reduced EPC from the US etc ending up with an overall EPC about 10% lower than average.

And today my Page Impressions are going up, slowly, however my clicks haven't moved in the past couple of hours or so!

I've been noticing this for awhile, last 1/3 of the day the ePCM shrinks like a frightened turtle. Could it be that the Economic Crisis is affecting US clicking habits more than Europe & Asia?

Huh? Easter's always been on a Sunday. Who changed it to Monday?

From Wikipedia:

Easter Monday is the day after Easter Sunday and is celebrated as a holiday in some largely Christian cultures, especially Roman Catholic cultures.

I had a chat with my friend from New Zealand and I was amazed to learn that they celebrate Easter Monday. In my country we celebrate Easter on Sunday.

In my country we celebrate Easter on Sunday.

It is not a Monday celebration but a holiday for many:

Easter Monday is the day after Easter Sunday and is celebrated as a holiday in some largely Christian cultures, especially Roman Catholic cultures.

FWIW in the UK there are very few "holidays", in total:

New Year's Day January 1st
Easter Good Friday
Easter Monday
Early Spring Holiday early May (brought in as a "workers'day") holiday
Spring Bank Holiday last Monday in May
Summer Bank Holiday last Monday in August
Xmas Day 25th Dec
Boxing Day 26th Dec

Quite simply, for many workers, the UK has only 3 days of non-"compulsory" holidays.

That's it...and you thought you had it bad?

Actually we had our Easter on Saturday this year as Sunday was calling for rain and wind and all manner of bad weather.

We dyed eggs for the kids and filled little plastic eggs with chocolates and stuff. 10 years ago I would have sat this one out but the older I get the more important this sort of thing becomes...

But I digress.. this is adsense right?

Okay my stats for the Easter holiday were outstanding. Who would have figured? If I'd had to bet I would have wagered they'd tank. It didn't happen though and this only reinforces my long held belief that I know absolutely nothing about this program and am basically just along for the ride.
