Just finished the small web site for a local car service.

I have several sites like this.

All without AdSense, because the local car service does not want that his neighbour adverise on his web site.

But with a location based filter, it would be possible to use AdSense.

Somethink like, do not show any ad for visitors 70km around the geogrphic location of his car service.

So when the car service is near Boston, a vistor from California would see ads on his web site.

I estimate in this way, one of my local car service sites would make around $30 a month.

And what prevents the advertiser from not disclosing the location of his business?

you can use various services to lookup the estimate location of an IP address, just search for geolocation and you will find informational sites and some providers (most likely all of them since there aren't that many).

It's easy.
use Maxmind DB and filter visitors/ip.

It's your luck that for US the geo details are incredible.

Was I drunk when I posted this?

Anyways, in the US its possible to geotarget to quite some precision. You don't need google for that.
