Has anyone else noticed that the ad targeting system is a bit hit and miss these days?

I've noticed quite a few pages on my site (40 to be precise) that have a lot of irrelevant ads on them, the same generic ones you see when a page first goes live. They used to have "good" relevant ads, but somewhere along the line they dropped off. Is anyone else seeing more of this recently?

I haven't noticed less relevant ads, I've noticed scraper/MFA sites advertising more though. Have you noticed a decrease in earnings or clicks as a result?

I haven't noticed it lately, but mistargeted ads are nothing new--especially on pages where keywords could have several possible meanings. (To use a hypothetical example, I wouldn't be surprised to see ads for Kristy Kreme or Tim Hortons on a page about cutting doughnuts on the ice in an automobile.) Usually such problems go away after a day or two.

If you're seeing more generic ads (such as the "fight belly fat" ads that people were complaining about a few weeks ago), it could be that there's a shortage of good ads for your keywords and placement-targeted CPM ads are being served in their place. And if that's the case, you can blame it on the global economic meltdown.

Actually, don't see many of the belly fat ads any more. I am however seeing lots of Sky and O2 ads. It's odd, because the pages used to be very well targeted and suddenly they're not. Also, I find the AdSense section targeting tags about as useful as a British politician (yup, completely useless!)

Guess I just put up with it until it goes away again. At least the other 60-70% of my site is still earning okay.

To make matters worse, they aren't nearly as colorful as someone like George Galloway.
