AdSense on dynamic pages?

I always though AdSense was 'not on the fly', but I hear otherwise

I always thought that AdSense does not work on the fly. Which means that it needs to read the page before the user sees it in order for good ads to appear.

This means that AdSense cannot be used on totally-dynamic pages.

now I hear that it isn't so, and people say that totally dynamic pages show great ads.

So what is the truth? Can I use adsense on pages that are dynamic and only used once?

AS certainly can show relevant ads on dynamic pages.

Do take care though that you are not putting AS on dynamic pages that don't meet their TOS - ie lacking in content (such as a widget review page that says "Sorry- we do not have any reviews for this widget").

That's cool.

So they analyze the context each time an ad is shown? (My dynamic pages are 'one-time' pages only...).

I don't believe so. Unless something has changed (would be very interested if it has), pages are crawled by a bot in advance.

In the absence of having context (fresh un-crawled page) typically they go with the context of the root domain or sub-folder overall.

Depending on how radically they change, that could be troublesome for targetted advertising. Ever moving goalposts...
