Bear in mind that if the worst happened and one of your accounts is banned then the other probably would be too as an 'associated' account, as it would be really difficult to careful keep the logins on different IPs, etc.

I wouldn't bother.

I can think of two downsides to having all my sites in one account:

First of all, we only get 200 channels for tracking, so some aspects on somes sites have to go untracked. I don't much like that.

Second of all, one of my sites is family/kid oriented. It means I feel obligated to block some ads that I wouldn't have any problem running on my other sites, because when you block an ad, you block it for everything in your account.

If neither of those situations are likely to apply to you, then you shouldn't have a problem.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm less worried about it now :) I can imagine the blocked sites issue, and limited channels (but I only use a few channels so far anyway).

I've observed the same thing. A while ago I had the impression smart pricing was by account but that's not what I'm seeing now. Some of my sites have much better pay per click than others even though all my sites are on the same account. Maybe AdSense got more sophisticated.

Smart pricing works at account level and not site level. If you have many sites on one account then smart pricing will affect them all.

Did we finally find evidence or proof of that one? I'm like annej, it seemed to be the case some time ago but I don't see it now.

I mean, it would really, really be a dumb thing that it affects entire accounts. So some sites don't do as well as others. Why would the others be penalized?

Yes it does sound dumb to have it at account level but Google admit to "smart pricing" and admit to it at account level not site level. There are posts from Google about it in the Adsense blog. There's also piles of information on this forum.

Having said that, Google do have an issue with how some people define smart-pricing. Their explanation of it appears to me to be reasonable and almost inevitable. But I do have problems in understanding it being operated at account level. Has anyone seen anything from Google to indicate this has changed?

Yes, it's right there in my AdSense states. I suppose it could be something else but it sure looks like smart pricing isn't working by account in my case.

I have stats also but I can't deduce from them that there is no account level smart pricing. What stats have convinced you that it can't occur at account level?

I have much higher pay per click on one site compared to others. They are on the same topic and get the same ads.

But I admit that doesn't really prove anything, it's just an indication.
