I'm under the impression that my eCPM is up marginally, the CTR is down more so. My first impression is that this approach is not a solution for me. Originally I had planned to run this test for one week but I want it to run long enough so that the current site activity reflects any changes blocking MFA's might have with SmartPricing. I'm under the impression that SmartPricing updates (is recalculated) on a weekly basis. Is this right? Is there a reason why this test should be run more than one week?
I run 10's of thousands of page views a day. I've seen the effect, but since CTR and possibly conversion rate factors have changed with the change in the type of ads that are shown, don't I need to wait for a change in the SmartPricing algo to see the true effect?
Same result if I have one ad per page. Less clicks and more epc. And I earn almost as much. Easily seen inside a day.
If I empty my 200 filter list then income drops as soon as the 4 to 12 hours goes by that it takes to work. By the end of the same day the effect can be seen. And it stays the same level as long as I leave it.
You need to be earning around 100 dollars / 400 clicks a day to see real trends that fast, due to mathmatical probability. If you are getting half that then run the tests twice as long or until a definite trend is seen. And blocking mfas will not always earn you more if there are no real advertisers that are bidding competitively in your area.
None of this is smartpricing but that may come along later. If you have a genuinely interesting and useful content site with ads that are not in your face / hidden then sartpricing may never bother you. And the opposite is true. I dont see how banning mfa ads alone could effect this.

I'd go with a full one week cycle. You will probably see first improvements after 24 hours, but the full effect will be seen as the filter fills up with the crap.
I suggest to add to the filter on a daily base as some crap might be replaced with other crap, which, however, you will only see once you filtered the original crap away (i.e. with 24 hours delay). :-)
In any case I encourage you to do that test! You'll probably never want to return to an unfiltered Adsense experience.
