Coop Search as substitute for AdSense Search?

Hi, I don't use AdSense for search so I don't know that much about it. But I can see how you could set up a Coop search engine designed to search your site only. I've done a mock-up of each, and I am slightly happier with the Coop search in terms of the format of the search box and the display of ads in the search results.

Two questions, I guess...

1. Is this allowed?

2. Has anyone noticed (yet) a difference in how much one gets paid in the 2 search programs? They appear to be the exact same ads; I guess the question is whether the split is the same.

I like how you can format the coop search much better. I was able to make the box shorter so I can put it under my navigation in the left column. It's more subtle too so blends in on my site better.

I had given up on using adsense search as it didn't pay much for me and I didn't want it to affect my smart pricing. Maybe that was a foolish worry though. Now I am just using the coop search and will wait to add AdSense after I hear how it is going for others.

Am I correct in assuming that the domains we filter in our AdSense accounts will also be blocked in the Custom Search?

Unfortunately there's still no word on how to apply a channel to a custom search engine so as to track it. I emailed support and got a form letter back as to how to create a custom url for AdSense for Search, not Custom Search. I'm thinking they released it before they had all the tools put together to really integrate it with AdSense. And no, I don't believe that the filter for AdSense for Search works on the Custom Search.
