seems that you can now allow advertisers to target a specific channel on a particular domain...

Good find Elsewhen.

My site has always been completely open for site-targeting. But the % of site targeted ads seems always be like 0.01. Everyday there are about 100 site targeted ads shown earning me peanuts.

Just to make the link working:

just a few weeks ago i was out here posting that publishers don't have any control over where cpm ads show up, and look what happened.

now if we could just exclude all site-targeted cpm on the site except for the targetable channel, we'd be in business!

that, and a guarantee from adsense that it won't affect epc in any way would be nice as well... put the custom channel on your forum, but nowhere else.

another use of this is for sites that have multiple categories but did not organize them into distinct directories. if i remember correctly, advertisers can target specific directories or subdomains. now publishers can create special baskets of pages to offer to advertisers.

the downside... you have to use a channel for something that you otherwise may not want to use one on.
