I just did a "report" that covered Jan.1,2001 to Jan.1,2010... it came up with what I have earned so far with AdSense...

I just run one web site, so it is not a huge number, ... around $15,000.oo has been made with just AdSense...

hey wheelie, seeing as you're talking, can you tell

you made 25,000 i 1.5 yrs instead of say 900

was this entirely due to adsense optimisation

or

it includes traffic improvements

or

you added new websites during that time

thanks for telling, its very uplifting

Cheers

in may 2005 after I started adding adsens to more pages on my main site (it generates over 75% of earnings) I saw the earnings improved dramatically so I started looking at my stats and working out how to improve again, content was the key, it is a .com and was originally on my own server in the US so I was missing out on home UK traffic for .co.uk searches (sites about something in the UK) then traffic almost doubled within a week of google returning it for uk only searches.

Pre may 2005 daily avg was around $7 over a month, after optimising (heatmap trial and error) the average was around $25 I was amazed, thats when I added adsense to many more pages to see, and it worked, avg became around $40, over time, the newly added content has A, increased traffic, B, increased revenue to avg $66/70, increased SERP #2 right behind the local government type site, the authority site in my niche, and for what its worth PR has jumped up to 6 with the last PR update on the foolbar, it was a 5 for the last 3 years.

Sita has a peak time of the year which lasts around 4 months, daily avg then is around the $80 @ best.

All in all adsense is making what I consider a nice income for me, for my main key phrase I am second, behind the known authority site , maybe what I make is just about as good as I am ever going to, I am still adding content but it takes time to research and write, hopefully I will see gradual increases over time, who knows, its a rollercoaster ride were on.

$100,000+ a bit

Since starting, not all today! Took since 0ctober 2003
12 small hobby sites, on free webspace with no proper domains of their own apart from a couple.

Good useful amateur niche content. Search and natural traffic only.

Traffic continues to increase and so does monthly income. No additions or changes made to these sites since way before adsense or google existed. The only work was adding ads and looking after the filter.

Six figures in sterling in last 12 months - not complaining, although not quite as good as it was same time last year, but lots of fingers in lots of different pies these days.

However, I hasten to add, everyone has different needs and different expectations. A person making $1K a year and working hard at it is doing well. I have been very fortunate - work hard and play hard - very hard, and tomorrow will probably leave me with a very big hang-over, but a very big grin on my face, and so life goes on. You never know what is round the corner, I think all you can do is make the best of what you have, give it your best, and don't try to game the system. What is tons to one is pennies to another. A member recently said that $5 a week was enoug in his country for food, housing etc. You cannot compare amounts of money. compare quality of life - how much time you have to spend with the people you care about, or doing what you really love. That is what is important - not how many dollars are deposited in the bank. IMHO - sorry another drunken rant! Boy do I love Guinness....

I agree, and must add (ad?) that all beer is good. And that your health is more important than a big bank balance!

I have the money but not really the health to enjoy it... But on the other hand IF I got out more (or could get out more) I would not have built those sites in the first place?

I'm not sure that "all beer is good" and " a big bank balance" necessarily correlate..... I just think that you are a long time dead, so best live for today - perhaps not the most sensible ethos, but generates laughter lines not frown lines....

Started about one year and two months ago. Averaging $400 a month at first with 3 main sites (hobby sites), now averaging $1,000 a month. Long term goal is to get up to $1,500 a month within a year.

Traffic is a big part of it, but tweaking ad colors and experimenting with ad locations are what helped me immediately improve revenues.

I've just about matched my social security check which may not sound like much but as a retiree I have a responsibility to sleep in everyday, go RVing with my hubbie, pursue my quilting addiction, goof off with friends, spoil grandkids, and anything else I'd rather do than work on my sites.

What I love is that AdSense is the gift that just keeps giving. My sites are all evergreen so the visitors keep coming to all the articles I've written and every new addition is a little more cash.

I've just about matched my social security check...

================================

You can keep getting income from AdSense -- that you naturally declare on your taxes-- and that does not reduce your social security check? Just wondering... I will be soon to retire also...

I believe that after age 65 there is no deduction from SS no matter how much you earn.

I think there is a new Medicare pricing structure though, the more you make, the more you pay, up to a set limit, if I recall right.

start November 28. 2005 - now

not more than $820.

But my last two months with adsense has generated about $250 of that. That's about 30% of total earnings. two months out of a year.

And that shows me only one thing.. nothing happens before you start doing something real. Like building content and traffic!

Nice topic!

There is a limit to how much you can make when on social security before you reach 65 or so (now it is a little later depending on when you were born). After that date there is no limit. You will have to get information on the details for your case.

Remember you will have some business deductions that will bring the total income down a bit.

The great thing is once you reach that magic age after 65 you can make all you want without a cut being made in your social security.

That is unless the govenment changes it again just to make it even more confusing. ;)

$35,000 or so, seems pretty small for the effort and expense in my case. But the trends are up, and the sub $100 days are not happening anymore.

Yep that's the recipe for the gift that keeps giving. Having a good chunk evergreen helps too. You have to have current information to keep the site up to date but your base can be evergreen.

Wow good jobs guys.

I'm generating right now about ~300/month for the past year.

Just within this month alone, have increased revenue to $15/day - putting it into the $450/month bracket.

My highest day was yesterday at $23.50 for the day.

I'm getting ~4,000 page impressions a day, so I'm curious to know what the difference is between the sites. Your site must have higher paying keywords, or better ad placement or something when generating 4x as much with half the page impressions?

kazi, Your topic and kind of site affects both CTR and pay per click so there is really no normal pay for a given number of visitors.

For example mt topic gets really well matched ads and I believe article pages like I have get more clicks than forum pages.

If you havent worked with your ad placement do some reading on this forum and experiment a bit. Finding the best location and colors for ads helped me more than anything.
