Hi,

I've been accepted for a blogger site to display adsense ads. Now if I want to show ads on another website, that belongs to me - is there a way (or a neccessity) to tell Google about this? Or can I just use the same adsense account for the other website?

I'm sure, it's in the TOS somewhere, but just to be sure ...

Thanks,

nerd.

hi and welcome,

I am a newbie myself and nowhere near an expert but still i will try to help

If you got accepted in the program, you can safely use your code in anywebsite you want as long as the site itself is conform to the TOS i.e. no firearms, drugs, porn etc...

Yes that is correct you can use adsense on multiple sites without telling them, just as long as the sites are TOS compliant.

I'm sure, it's in the TOS somewhere

Are you implying you didn't read the TOS?

Google isn't big on second chances, you really need to stop for ten minutes and read it a few times and understand it in its entirety.

If there is any question at that point come back and ask us.

When Google bans you for an infringement they ban you forever (in most cases).

well, I read them, but I didn't find an answer to the multiple website question.

But - I'll re-re-re-read them before doing anything. Thanks for your warning.

I found the "no-beer-no-booze" paragraph. Does that mean that on an informational website about a contry all pages that contain information about the booze industry my not contain ads? Or what do they mean by "promoting"?

As a rule of thumb - if in doubt send them an email before implementing. If they say its OK - go for it. There is some great information & advice on this forum, but at the end of the day, don't necessarily believe everything you read. Get it from the horses mouth. Like you have been told, a ban is a nightmare. The ban is for life, so definately not worth the risk of upsetting the big G! This forum is fantastic for the pooling of experiences, information and theories. But at the end of the day, its your account and treat it with the utmost of care. Never, ever, tell ask anyone to click on any ads - including yourself. This is the most common cause of people being banned from Adsense. Do not "pass go" & "do not collect any money". An analogy with a game of monopoly is pretty much how it is. You never know what is round the corner, or whether your revenue is going to go up or down, or whether you go straight to jail - only difference is there is no get out of jail free card!

Good points!

Basically, no tricks. Don't play any games around the ads themselves, the visitor must not be coaxed to click ad in anyway. Heat map and blending (or anti-blending) are two techniques to consider

You have to remember you might attract minors to your page.

That is right any page talking about liquor as it's theme should not be showing Adsense. (can someone second that?) If liquor is mentioned in passing I don't think that is an offence.

Promoting is enabling the selling or distribution of something or an idea in a direct or indirect way.

The exact phrase is: "Sales or promotion of beer or hard alcohol".

It really is all about "sales and promotion" and as Khensu said, it's unlikey to be a problem if "liquor is mentioned in passing".

Oddly, there is no problem with wine, however.

To answer the original point about adding new sites - from the help pages on the adsense site:-

How do I add more sites to my account?

There's no need to open another account or notify us when you place the AdSense code on a new site. The ad code and search code generated through the guided steps on the AdSense Setup tab of your account are valid for any page in any site on which you want to display Google ads or an AdSense for search box. Simply add the code to your page source, and we'll automatically detect the new site.
