Is it CTR or the CPC that matters more?

I mean if I get x clicks (suppose the same clicks) with 100 hits or 1000 hits the CTR will obviously differ, but what about my earnings? will it be the same or the earnings are also related to the CTR?

thanks

Depends on how good the 1000 convert for the advertisers. Too high CTR with low conversions for them will get you smartpriced.

Thanks for the reply, I meant the exact opposite

I am now getting around 300 hits a day with a CTR of 5-6%

if I do some advertisments to get 1000 hits a day and my CTR will be lower (maybe 1% or so) will this affect my earnings?

I think the first important is the traffic, it will improve you CTR, then is the ad clicks. The heigher of the ad clicks the heigher of the CPMs.

of course, if your ad clicks is so heigh, you will given more money.

GiveMeMore, it depends. Sometimes bulding traffic increases your earnings, sometimes it doesn't. A lower CTR may mean a lower average EPC but may not. And even if it means a lower EPC you may earn more overall if the number of clicks increases sufficiently

There are several different possible scenarios, ranging from higher earnings to no impact and even to lower earnings, but there is no way to know what will happen until you try it out.

Well, with one exception. If you buy low-quality traffic you will almost certainly lose out.

How would define buying good traffic? is ADWord good or bad traffic?

Adwords is good traffic, but expensive.

10,000 page views for $29.95 is bad traffic.

Visitors to your site from links on other sites are most excellent traffic.

What is it tha matters?
the CTR or the CPC

Why worry about CPC when you can't control it? So....

Assuming the theme of your site is a constant.

You can control the CTR somewhat with ad placement and blending.

You can only partly control eCPM. You can't contol the CPC, but as I just said you can control the CTR part of the eCPM which will obiously affect it.

Therefore, I would conclude that the most important of the CTR, CPC or eCPM is CTR.

But I would suggest that the most important part of ALL your stats is the bottom line. $$$ So get the best CTR you can, and worry about getting traffic to it. If you want to get a better CPC, use what you have leaned, and build another site. IMHO

I read this all the time :( can anyone please point me to the forum where I can learn how to get others to link to me?

I know some will tell me content but no matter how good or bad your content is, how do you drive someone to find you in the first place

One more question, when you say "bad traffic" you mean that these won't 10,000 hits wont generate the $30 in revenues or it will harm because of smartpricing etc...?

GiveMeMore, the answer to your question about the $29.95 traffic is "both."
