Blending Problem

I am working on blending some adsense into my layout

Note the two google ads at the bottom of the left navigation and within the latest tutorials section.

The colour of 'Ads by Google' on the left stands out a LOT, would this be good or bad for the website/CTR and is there any way to change the colour?

Also, is there any way to remove the underline from the adsense links? The links would suit my layout better without the underlines.

Ps. Don't try to navigate around the site, it's not complete, I'm still testing/coding.

You are a bit stuffed with the adsense code. What i would do to make it blend in more, is to make some of the other headings the same font/boldness.

In my short adsense experience I have come to no conclusion whether blended ads are better or not.

I guess testing out the various theories would be a good idea.

How's that for non-commital?

You can change the color of various elements of AdSense ads when you are setting up the code at AdSense. Try different colors.

I recommend blending.

Oh, and for future reference, you aren't supposed to post URLs.

I have blended it but I could work out how to change the colour of the 'Ads by google' text, at the moment it really stands out as black, bolded text.

That text is set up by Google to display with the maximum contrast. They don't want you to make it hard to see. It will be black on a light background or white on a dark background. You just have to live with it. I find that people don't much notice it, and to the extent that they do, it actually adds credibility.
