Would you say that AD Units pay higher in general? Ot it does not matter at all?

Seems to depend very much on the site and/or content. I've read many people stating that AdLinks don't work at all on their site while they're, without a doubt, the highest revenue generator on mine.

Many users, like Chapman above, report great results with link units.

Every time I try putting up link units on my sites, I get stupid links like "[my niche's celebrity] bow ties" and then the landing page includes a link to a bow-tie company with no connection to my niche's celebrity.

So, they're not great for me.

But why ask us? What does it hurt to just try one on your site and see how it goes?

I agree with fred--you won't know till you try. And try them different places.

I tried them several times and they never did well, so I took them off. Then created a perfect spot on my home page and that on Adlinks unit brings in more than 1/3 of the total earnings for the site.

I only use a Leaderboard and an AdLink unit on all sites and for my two core sites in 2006 earnings so far are 46.64% Leaderboard with 53.36% AdLink.

The EPC is 5.04% higher for the Leaderboard v AdLink.

I appear to have visitors who actually surf the AdLink unit results since they are so relevant.

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys, Actually I have used Adlinks extensively, but today noticed, that over the long term they pay lower than Link Units. That's why I asked But the CTR is pretty good.

Ad Units tend to convert better, since you need 2 clicks to get paid for a Link Unit, but the link units are unobtrusive and can supplement a page nicely.

I haven't checked on a per click basis, but in general Adlinks pay well enough on my site that if I had to choose one or the other, I'd go with adlinks.

Link Units are just slightly ahead of the Ad Blocks on my site.
