I understand the rules that you can only place one referral button or link for each type of product, ie Firefox, Picasa, etc.
With AdSense we are not allowed to call attention to the ads by asking people to click on them.
Does the same rule apply to referrals? Since there are so many people online that are newbies, just showing one of the banners, may not really show a newbie that all they need to do is click the banner in order to download the software.
Is it within G's TOS to put a line of text or a paragraph even above or below the banner advising the visitor that all they need to do is click the banner in order to download the software?
For instance, if you have a site that is promoting the awesome qualities of the firefox browser or picasa software, and in your text you are exclaiming the virtues of each, would it be against policy to advise the visitor that all they need to do is click on the banner?
Also, the text links leave a little to be desired IMHO. I think there should be a text link that says "CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD FIREFOX WITH GOOGLE TOOLBAR" rather than the current "Get Firefox with Google Toolbar".
