Visitors Behavior: A Factor?

It seems they are tired of clicking ads....

I've just started my website last month and I earned more than $200. I have targeted a specific geographic location in one country, I have 250 unique visitors a day. I have less than a hundred pages but only 10 pages have adsense. To keep my visitors coming back, I changed the 5 pages a day.

I thought July is going to be greater than June but my number of clicks were fading this week. I rely on my number of clicks because my average is .25$ per click

Were my visitors tired of clicking or my contents?

Are the ads changing or are you getting mostly the same ones?

Sorry about the double post - something went wrong this end.

Some pages work well with adsense - others don't. I'd be inclined to have a channel on each banner as you have a small number of them, and when you find a page that the ads work on, leave the ad block there. Remove ad blocks that don't pay well by all means.

I would say that if you have a lot of pages with low clicks and low impressions it's not really worth removing them. For an ad block to make a difference to your bottom line it has to have approacing equal or higher number of impressions in comparison to other pages, and disproportionately low clicks. You can make use of the eCPM figure here in helping to decide what pages really do perform badly.

I'd be inclined to leave the ads on most of your pages for a while to see what works and what doesn't. I certainly wouldn't change the pages daily. You'll never know where the ads are effective that way.

"Are the ads changing or are you getting mostly the same ones?"

75-80% of my ads are the same everyday. I just can't believe that eventhough my content changes, mostly the ads stayed.

My traffic is the same, only the clicks are half lower.

Are you mostly reaching the same 250 users every day? If so, that's likely to be your problem.

Yes, I have the same traffic. What I don't understand is when I changed my page to different topic, still my ads appearing are the same.

Anyway thanks a lot for your input.

Changing the page won't change the ads right away. Google has your old version cached and won't update until they grab the changed page. It can take a couple of weeks.

You have the same NUMBER of visitors per day, but how many of them are actually repeat visitors? A site with good content should be getting a steady stream of new visitors. If you don't, that's a problem.

You only started the site last month, so THIS month, your regulars, if you have any, will have seen the ads. So that might indeed contribute to a dropoff. But many people have also been reporting dropoffs from June, perhaps a typical summer slump. So could be either, or both....

That's probably my problem, the same people visiting everyday and they are seeing the same ads.

Thanks for knowing about the content changes.

You might want to experiment with the blocking filters. That way you can force the ads to change.

hi,i got a good news. it might work to you. I have changed my homepage by putting article that is not related to my website. I changed some of my keywords. Half of the ads in my homepage are still the same. All the other pages are the the same. Here's my findings based on the changes,

1. my average of .25$ per click goes to .51$
2. my number of clicks was back to normal
3. my earnings in the past 2 days are doubled
4. i am getting some 1$ per click

My conclusion: Visitors Behavior is a big factor, you have to give them something new for them to click again.
