Four days ago, I changed my ad placement and saw an immediate jump to double CTR and double eCPM. Naturally, I attributed this to the change of ad placement.
Today, yes, it's early for some. It's 8:39am Google time, 10:39am my time, however at this same time for the past 4 days, I am today down to half CTR and half eCPM and about a third of the earnings.
Last week we had a time where Google was having a problem with updating, so I am only hoping this is one of those times? Any ideas?
Also, I've not touched my site, so no changes to ads since I changed it 4 days ago. Thanks for any help or information.
The one thing I have noticed so far today is that my EPC is down about 17%.
I've already doubled my daily average, with much of the day left to go. Which means I'm at - prepare to be astounded - $7 or so. ;)
But this has little to do with Google, alg updates, superstition or what not.
Yesterday, my site was mentioned as a news item on a site with actual traffic. The traffic surge is actually smaller than it was last year when this happened.
So no new laptop, but I may be able to afford a memory card. ;)
I hate Friday the 13th!
Stats seem to updating normally for me...
Things are looking a lot better on my sites, hope it holds. Even the small downs and ups are mostly downs on the weekends but even last weekend was looking better, more stable.
Going through one more weekend and then I will say what I am doing.
Not trying to be mysterious here, just don't want to cause some people extra work for nothing.
I have been that route only to see no improvements after doing hours of work after someone's suggestion. I don't want to do that to others because drowning people (like I was) will clutch at straws.
Anyone considered the fact of higher bid prices to advertise in the serps may be driving the MFAs to the content network? The Quality landing page etc, is not included for the content network advertisers, or so I have read, and could well have a very bad impact on us. That's not fair but time will tell....

It's not very often I can say that a Thursday was the best day of the month for me so far, and, in fact, the best Thursday since 25th May ...
Even stranger?
Page impressions -10%.
Clicks +20%
CTR +20% - More like a weekend figure for me
eCPM +20% - Again more like a weekend
Is all the new landing page stuff and other things I know nothing about taking effect?
Grrrrrrrrr!
Hahaha...patience Hobbs, patience:-)
Everything comes to he who waits...supposedly!
July 13th was a normal day for me in all aspects.
For me, too, with traffic, revenues and eCPM up just a bit from the previous Thursday.
The only odd thing is that CTR has been down a bit in the last three days. Nothing dramatic, but enough to be noticeable (although slightly higher EPC has made up for it in terms of revenue).
About 20% revenue loss, not as bad as the way it first started out.
Normally during the day, my eCPM starts out high, then gradually gets lower during the day, so when Thursday started out I had a low eCPM to start out with, so I thought that by the time the day ended, my eCPM would be horrible, however, this strange day, it did the opposite, the CTR and eCPM went up as the day progressed, leaving me down 20% in revenue rather than 60% like it appeared it would be at first.
One just never knows what to expect anymore! lol
Ann, we can't wait to hear the results of that test!
