Since June 15th I have experienced the following with a family destination resort related group of sites

Impressions/Day - Up 38% despite removing Adsense from some popular pages
CTR - Down 43%
Clicks/day - Down 25%
Cost Per Click - Up 15%
ECPM - Down 35%
Earnings/Day - Down 10%

What happened on the 15th?
1. The kids in our neck of the woods got out of school
2. The temperatures in the feeder metro areas for this destination hit the century mark.

Theory - Since most of the ads showing on my sites are lodging based, I suffer because the users switch from a planning type of mode to a what can we do today type of thing.
Anyone else experience anything similar?

I think the typical summer trends are taking affect and this has also affected my stats.

While I have nothing on my site related to travel, my users tend to get caught up in family/personal events (i.e. traveling, family reunions, taking on extra jobs, etc.) during the summer.

Just saw this story as well. It only applies to the millions in the U.S., but is a significant amount of people:

If folks aren't watching television, they're probably not sitting in front of a computer either.

Historically August has been my lowest month in traffic and earnings, but my traffic is increasing annually, so one year's bottom is close to previous year's peak.

My European travel-planning site often has its highest traffic in May (when people are making last-minute summer vacation plans) and August (when people are planning what used to be "off-season" fall vacations and getaways).

There's typically a modest dip in early summer as universities let out, and as readers actually go on vacation.

This year, another factor was the World Cup, which distracted my European users at least part of the time.

And, of course, weather is generally a factor, because people aren't as likely to be snuggling up to their PCs for warmth in the summer months. Let's just hope that global warming doesn't shorten the profit-making season for Internet businesses!

I am experiencing the opposite. I have had several record days and everything is up.

Maybe the kids/college kids provide the best results for me, and now with free time on their hands..... bada bing.

Yep, same has happened on my sites and if this were to continue then I'm looking forward to the next couple of year's earnings:-)
