I have changed the URL Slug of one of my projects in Carpet Cleaning services (Serving in many locations). I lost my keywords ranking from the 3rd page to the 6th page within a couple of weeks. Google also indexed the new URL but didn't pass the value to the new slug. Can you suggest to me if I have to revert to the previous URL to get back the where I was last month?

Did you do a redirect?

the URL Slug

I had to check that out, I've never heard that description before even after 30 years!

Ok, I hope there is a 301 redirect too because if not then G may see this as a completely new page and unless you have a very good track record with G it could take months for it rank, if ever.

Years ago changing a url was not much of a problem however these days it is very important to ensure that urls are as good as possible at their launch. This doesn't seem to affect news and G favoured sites so much.

URL slug is a WP term. If it was changed, you are generally starting over and if done incorrectly there may be two slugs.

It is actually called "site slug", it is like a byline for the site, but not required.
