Ok, many times when I go to search something on Google, I get the following error message:

We're sorry...

... but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now.

This happens inconsistently but enough so that I've started searching on Bing.

I don't do a lot of searches that could possibly warrant this. I use FireFox most of the time, but I checked and I get the same message when using IE, etc.

I checked to make sure I did not have a virus or something that could cause it.

Anyone else have this issue? If so, how or were you able to resolve it?

I run into this "error message" when I'm using special operators in a query - especially more than one, back-to-back. It seems to get triggered very easily by inurl: and especially by combinations of more than on special operator.

It happens to me even when I put in one keyword with no special operators. It is really making me think about switching my "home" search to Bing.

Are you running any SEO extensions on that browser? I also found they can trigger the warning if I forget to turn them off.

I get it but only when doing ranking checks for quite a few keywords in a row. If I take a break in the middle for a coffee or something I can get through them without the warning.

This is gorg protectionism at work. You need them to give you results so you can game them, and they don't like it. :)

Bing is the way to go these days... as long as they are #2 they will allow it. Take that info and game google. Works a charm!
