Celebrities have the funds to have their day in court, however, this may go nowhere if it's all sorted.

The company was threatened yesterday with a $100m suit by lawyers representing some of the stars whose photos were stolen from their hacked celebrity iCloud accounts and published online. The lawyers have accused Google of ignoring take down requests for the images hosted on Google properties, but the search giant has claimed it took rapid action.

"We've removed tens of thousands of pictures — within hours of the requests being made — and we have closed hundreds of accounts," Google said in a statement to ZDNet. "The internet is used for many good things. Stealing people's private photos is not one of them."Google Threatened With $100 Million Lawsuit Over Stolen Photos Online [zdnet.com]

The lawyer, complaining that many of the images are still available on Blogspot and YouTube, asserted that Google is “making millions from the victimization of women.”

And the lawyers, of course, won't be making a dime off the women?

Rumor is that not all the stolen photos have been leaked just yet so this lawsuit might be a way to get Google to respond faster when the next batch is released.
