It looks like Google might be pulling an old switcheroo. Rumor has it that the Mountain View-based company is planning to release a Chrome OS-based tablet (not an Android one just yet) this November.
It gets better. According to a source over at Download Squad, the HTC-made tablet will launch with Verizon Wireless on November 26. Before you even look at your calendars, just know that this is Black Friday. Talk about making a statement on the biggest shopping day of the year.
Partly why I dislike these little mobile gadets. They are just electronic devices with big fees sucking cash out of your bank account.
Yes, I understood that the Google tablet being released for the holiday market would be chrome OS. This is unofficial from one of my students who works at Qualcomm (maker of the chipset.) He brought over a prototype to show me. Very thin. I was interested to see that the processor, et al are housed in the hinge.
Google tablet running verizon? Maybe they should have mentioned this when they were pitching the Google/Verizon pay toll version of the internet.
To be avoided imo, this worm has a hook.
