Eric Schmidt talks openly on privacy

Google's CEO Eric Schmidt went on the record when asked about Google storing personal data. In an interview with CNBC he said: "If you have something that you don't want anyone to know, maybe you shouldn't be doing it in the first place."

This has already stirred a debate over privacy and whether handing over data to Google is a good idea.

It will be very interesting to see how this turns out.

Ludicrous statements that down play Google's size and reach. Google's far past the point where they have a social responsibility to inform people of their rights and help them make informed choices with respect to them.

Hiding behind the patriot act is a total crap cop out.

there was another thread on this yesterday ..it linked to the original article ..it disappeared off the the main thread list ( and doesnt show in my profile post list ) just after I posted in it .. only tedster and the thread OP posted after me ..( it showed up again but only in "search and buried ) ..glitch

Wow, how silly of me to think of getting Christmas gifts for the family and wanting them to be a surprise. According to Eric I should forget giving gifts next year.
