The F.C.C. posted certification documentation on its Web site. The documents confirm is the name of the new phone: Dream. Most important, though: with the smartphone’s certification behind it, it is possible for T-Mobile, the nation’s No. 4 wireless carrier, to go ahead with plans to debut the phone next month and begin selling it ahead of the Christmas shopping season.
From what it says on the FCC website, it seems like just another smartphone as far as the consumer is concerned.

If Google are only supplying the OS, then the call charges are nothing to do with them.
I think it is time for me to finish my Google Acquisitions research and see if the dots have been connected. I think they have. Once this little Dream gets in the hands of the consumer, expect to be fully assimilated. There won't be no turning back once that little Dream touches your hands. You will be connected 24/7/365. You won't need cash anymore. You won't need your wallet. You won't need your Driver's License. Everything will be like a Dream Come True.
I think I'll get one. :)

Remember, the wireless carriers have to make money in order to support their massive infrastructure.
I'm not certain, but I do believe Google has been building their own infrastructure. They've purchased quite a few related companies over the years and continue to do so. They've also purchased dark fiber networks.
Google wants 'dark fiber'

That is just one of many related stories in this area. Google is up to something as usual. Seeing the Google Acquisition Timeline on one big screen might help to piece it all together. :)
