Google's CEO Eric Schmidt talks about the fact that they only know what's in the press about the Microsoft-Yahoo deal. He goes on about the company being an innovator and about Cloud Computing.
Furthermore, he talks about how tough it has been to monetise the social networking space. He talks about the Google cash and how comfortable he is in leaving it the bank.
On the mobile front, he sees considerable growth to exploit.
He talks about the dramatic market growth outside the USA, including Europe, Japan, China.
Here's a business idea: Someone should start a web site that summerizes other people's long-winded crap!

On top of the synopsis he talks about how the Google brand name is so strong in Europe, Great Britain and France in particular.
He also talks about what he thinks is the "scariest" technological innovation for the next year or so - language translation. That interested me, because if a Chinese person could press a button and get my web pages perfectly translated into Chinese then the coverage of my websites would probably double overnight.
When he talks about mobile phones, he says that in 3 years time there will be 5 billion mobiles in a world population of 6 billion. More important than television or even electricity (over-exageration there I think). He talks about that in depth and my take on his words are that he expects mobile phones to get larger screens, somehow. The mobile market is where it's going and I'm sitting here without a single web page designed for mobiles!

That comment is scary...as it seems sooooo far from true. translation into Korea (vice versa) and Chinese and Japanese so far is basically a joke. Seriously. as in, only use it if you want laugh.

Even English <-> Spanish is way off... my 6th grader's Spanish teacher can catch when a homework assignment was done through a web based translator in about 2 seconds.
Cast my vote for G investing a couple hundred million into translation, (I wonder what "chicken scratch" translates to in Shona?)

That should be feesable within the next year or two. And it will not necessarily be inside the phone itself, but rather projected from the phone. Search for "Pico Projector" or "MVIS"
