Not going to happen. You don't cut telecom services to sovereign nations, no matter how pissed you are at them.
not really, you could have your own laws, absolutely no tax for your companies, 500 million seems cheap.
Partially kidding. A self-proclaimed sovereign nation with no military seems a precarious position indeed.
I wouldn't recommend buying the island so as to do anything that upsets any of the bullying nations, look what happens when a country elects "the wrong sort of government"!

Not so sure about that; look at Costa Rica, for example (especially given the history of the nations around it).

the iWoz is cool, to be sure, in the same way *I* was cool being part of my linux users group in high school... but he really isn't a television personality. I saw him on Colbert and ... well Colbert didn't know what to do with him, most-awkward-guest-appearance-evar.

I doubt it. It stands pretty high out of the North Sea.
But really, once they transfer ownership they wont have any say about how the 'nation' gets used... and the highest bidding parties interested in such a venture, I'm quite certain, aren't looking for an ocean view, so I don't know how the current owners expect to impose their moral values onto the sale.
It's a tiny little place, but who's to say an imperialist world power wouldn't want to buy it, and then build it into a structure capable of supporting military airplanes - all of a sudden it's some sort of Guam of the north Atlantic?
I really don't understand how it can be considered a sovereign nation... can anyone build a structure in international waters, assign a flag and coat of arms, and call it a country? Wikipedia says that Sealand's claims of sovereignty are not recognized by any country, but on the show last night it was implied that although British courts claim it to be part of Britain, other courts have disagreed....
