I've just noticed that Facebook has removed the snooze option from desktop. Clearly, it has decided I should see certain people regularly ranting and posting political opinions.

There should be a way to control topics or users you don't wish to see, or that can drive users to rethink their usage.

Snooze would allow a 30-day hide of a users' posts. I have a way of dealing with it, but FB itself used to do this and it's already being heavily criticised for removing this ability. It was really helpful when one individual would jump on a hobby horse and not stop posting about a particular topic. It always gets worse when there are elections, or political themes come to the fore. I really don't want to read about it, whichever side of the ground they stand.
Each time it makes changes like this it's going to alienate more users, imho.

I was an early adopter of FB... and I mean EARLY. However, about five-six years in the changes in the original, forcing new content, errors in preferences, etc. drove me off. It is quite likely that each FB user will encounter that "one more new change" that breaks the camel's back.

FB has faced exactly that for some time, with youngsters favouring tiktok. It's not the same as fb, but has taken eyeballs away. I regularly see user frustration over fb's frequent changes, including the most recent major change which has given a free reign to spammers. Where is the sense in that!
