I submit to the DMOZ and then I learn something new. I then resubmit (probably less than 6 weeks later) thinking that I got rejected because I didn't have proper length META Keywords, or my descriptions weren't proper, etc.
So now my main concern is DMOZ Spamming. I know I've probably resubmitted my site about 4 times, each time a little different. I was unaware of the Spam filtering. Can anyone help me figure out if my URL has been marked for spam? I would be so thankful.
I truly feel like I understand exactly what preparation is required to submit to the DMOZ and I promise smoother submissions in the future.

We have to rewrite the huge majority of submitted titles and descriptions anyway so don't worry that you have to perfect them.
A resubmission to the same category merely overwrites any previous listing suggestion there, thus keeping it at the bottom of the pile if the reviewing editor likes to work in date order (many don't).
Submissions to other categories are not a good idea. The one exception is if you provide locally specific services. In that case, by all means suggest the website to the office/store locality category. It helps if there's a verifiable street address on the website.
4 or 5 submissions you say? You'll have to work at it much harder than that to be deemed a spammer.
For example a chain of supermarkets would usually not be listed in the location of the headquarter, because the supermarkets themselves are considered more important than the headquarter. Since they are all over the country, the site will be listed on country-level.
But the usual large company is more like "one big headquarter, some small offices elsewhere". Those companies will usually be listed in their main location.
And of course, since we do a human edited directory, there are a few cases where exceptions really do make sense. So you may find some exceptions to those rules as well.
