Hi everyone,

I was just contacted by email that she couldn't download an audio from my course. She mentioned (the site where) she bought it. Upon checking, I noticed that this is one of these scraper sites that steal courses or pdfs and sell them for a much lower price.

So they stole my course and are selling it for a ridiculously low price.

Their domain is on Namecheap, and they are behind Cloudflare.

Is anything I can do?

Thanks,
Eddie

You will need to do a little research to decide what you would like to do about it. The first step is always to ask them to remove your content from their site. Since this is not as rare an occurrence as we wish it might be there are steps to follow and things to know before you begin.

I suggest your first step is to get that list of steps from Google: [support.google.com...] and then to keep accurate records of your requests and their responses.

If they do not respond and continue to try to market your work, then you would contact their host and repeat the request for removal and explain what you have already done to try to get it removed. If neither the site nor their host will help, then you can document your efforts and request that Google not index their site.

If the site owner is engaged in this kind of content theft and repurposing, they have probably gone through this process n the past. That information from Google that I've linked to gives you a better idea of the process.

There are some research help links in the Charter [webmasterworld.com] that may be useful.

Not much one can do after the horse has bolted. Most online tutors are using copy protection for PDF and video provided by ArtistScope.
