This is sad to read that the law has not moved forward and that the parties involved didn't take the opportunity to move forward.

The UK's 2014 private copying exception, which allowed you to make personal copies of your own music, including format-shifted versions, has now been definitively withdrawn, according to The 1709 Blog. As a result, it is once more illegal to make personal backups of your own music, videos or e-books, rip CDs and DVDs to standalone digital files, or upload your music to the cloud. I do not condone the theft of someone's copyright, however, I believe that the opportunity to make "fair use" an accepted part of the law is a missed opportunity.

My recommended approach is to comply with criminal and moral tips of countries that renowned a balance among the rights of creators and customers. According to marque déposée the author owns the copyright for something created. All people can sue for anything and everybody can difficulty a give up-and-desist letter, however, that does not make it a felony or enforceable.

The beaks have spoken. Millions will be under threat as the kiddies will do what they always do: collect. Wonder why the change as the previous actually worked for all concerned. Only the actual pirates and infringers were the perps the holders needed to pursue. Perhaps that was too difficult, so the change transforms all into perps as a scatter gun approach to protecting rights....
