How content writing differs from other writing types?

There is hardly any person who is unaware of the significance of content

Hello everyone,

There is hardly any person who is unaware of the significance of content as online promotional activity. Whether it is keyword rich reports advertising a product, or marketing write-up publicizing particular service, content plays an important role in web marketing. A good content can also improve your page rank on search engines.

The aforementioned facts are known to all, but my question is how content writing differs from other writing types?

Regards

No it can't, at least not directly. PageRank (TM) is something Google measures, and is associated with your inbound links. (You would gain IBLs through good content, however)

What Content can and will do is improve your ranking in SERPs. Which is probably what you meant, but its not the same thing.

I'm not sure how you would contrast Content with 'other' writing as the 'other' encompasses so much. And 'Content' would be vary by target audience. A technical White Paper would not be written in the same way as a Fine Art criticism, for example.

Generally, Content should be targeted by audience, and optimised for relavancy. Try not to pad too much- you will dilute your message. But try not to be too 'thin' either.

Wow, the more I think about this, the more I realise this is not really a 'do this' scenario. Have a look at sites in your niche. See what they do well, and what you would improve, and do that. Marking sites using a scoring sheet can help here for easy analysis later. If you still don't know how to write content, hire a copy writer!

>>The aforementioned facts are known to all,

No, as has already been mentioned, content has nothing at all to do with PageRank, so that isn't a fact - it's incorrect.

One example of a difference is that writing content isn't the same thing as writing sales copy.
